The Chainsmokers Elevate Their Music with Live Performance at SUMMIT

Many refer to Alex Pall and Drew Taggart of The Chainsmokers as the “Kings of Summer” in the late 2010s, with releases such as “Roses”, “Closer”, and more that dominated the charts.

While they seemed to have taken a break over the past couple of years, the duo is back and ready to take over once again. After re-entering the music scene in January 2022 with the release of their song “High”, SUMMIT was fortunate enough to host Alex and Drew to film a live Chainsmokers performance in our space.

The “High” video takes place during the daytime and features the band roaming throughout the entirety of the space as they perform the song. Beginning in Transcendence and ending up 200 feet higher in Ascent, the appearance showed the limitless bounds of music. Who ever thought the world would see a band with a full drum set performing in an exterior glass elevator ascending to around 1,200 feet?

The video has already accumulated over 1.5 million views, and fans are raving about how incredible it looks. Lucky for them, The Chainsmokers had another surprise up their sleeve!

The Chainsmokers were back at SUMMIT once again for a live performance of “iPad”! The video beautifully captures the essence of SUMMIT at Night, providing a completely different perspective from the “High” video. Viewers were mesmerized by the flooding of colorful lights contrasted against the New York City skyline at night. We’re so thankful that The Chainsmokers were able to elevate the nighttime experience at SUMMIT in such a revolutionary way.

Earlier this month, The Chainsmokers new song “iPad” dropped. Social media pages had been teasing this song for months, and followers were anxiously awaiting its arrival. After the official music video was released on March 11th, fans didn’t know that they were in for a treat.

Finally, their latest live performance at SUMMIT dropped on April 26 with their song “Riptide”! Viewers and fans can once again marvel in the beauty of the space and enjoy some incredible music.
